WWII 023: Seth Klarman the Extraordinary Value Investor, Baupost Group 13F, Real Estate Flips and Partnerships, Rich People Worldview

On this episode, I shine the light on one of my favorite value investors, Seth Klarman founder of Baupost Group.

Main Topic

Seth Klarman is one of a group of hard-core value investors and the founder of a hedge fund called Baupost Group with about $25 Billion under management.

Seth got his start at the Mutual Fund working for Michael Price and Max Heines. In 1982, Seth was approached by a Harvard professor about opening a family office and Baupost was created with a starting capital base of $27 million.

Value investing requires a great deal of hard work, unusually strict discipline, and a long-term investment horizon. Few are willing and able to devote sufficient time and effort to become value investors, and only a fraction of those have the proper mind-set to succeed.

co-owning a property with another investor (self.investing_discussion)

I just though of an idea of buying a property with another investor and splitting the profit. Is this a good idea?. I want to buy a home, but this would give me a big head start. I don't know where you would find someone to do it with though.
