Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd Book Review

Security Analysis is often referred to as the "bible of value investing." This is the master manifesto of capturing value from the stock market and was penned by the "Father of Value Investing" Mr. Benjamin Graham and David Dodd. Ben was Warren Buffett's mentor, boss, and instructor in Warren's early days of value investing.

This immense book is a "must read" for any serious investor. If you are just a hobbyist and you are okay with losing money, go ahead and not read this book.

For the rest of us who want to know everything they can about investing, you must read this book.

Yes, some things are outdated, and yes, company reporting is better these days and the SEC has done a decent job of requirement good reporting.

The book is still worth reading, even with all of those caveats. There are  a number of chapters on esoteric types of investments available to the security detective. If  your goal, as mine is, is to be the "Batman" of investing, you'll need all the tools in your utility belt that you can get. Security Analysis will help you there.
